The purpose of theology is doxology. We know God in order to worship him. One of the ways we worship God is by singing and making music to him in our hearts. And one of the great teaching tools that we have been given is music, with memorable melodies and rhymes. Thus, in music, we can learn about God as we worship Him together. In this way God is not just studied, He is rejoiced in. Music is a means by which we may learn about God as we worship God! Thus, we seek to awaken all peoples to the worship of God by using music as a means to proclaim, teach, and enjoy the fullness of His glory.
Since 1999, our ministry has accomplished this in the following ways:
- Concert Ministry - internationally recognized evangelical guitarist Steve Turley proclaims the glory of God through classical guitar concerts and presentations.
- Guitar Worship Books - our worship books offer guitar-friendly arrangements of hymns and praise choruses, all with rich theological devotions.
- Learning Ministry - our learning ministry provides seminars, classes, and curriculum at local churches which teach and serve believers who are seeking to glorify God through music.
- Teaching Ministry - our teaching ministry is for people of faith who have a heart to teach the guitar for God's glory.
- Playing Ministry - our playing ministry provides students and teachers alike the opportunity to use their guitar skills for God's glory by accompanying singing for children's worship, vacation Bible school, youth groups, worship services, mission events, urban ministries, AIDS ministries, and prison fellowships.
With a commitment to strengthening the church, Fretboard Fellowship Ministries seeks to faithfully proclaim the glory of God through song, using music as a means to communicate His beauty. Through concerts, teacher training, guitar classes, seminars and resources, our ministry hopes to mobilize the church's musical resources and touch the lives of believers and non-believers with the truths of Holy Scripture.
